Emergency Response Training at SMTC, Miri.

Today is my first day in Sea Survival Training which conducted at Sribima Maritime Training Centre or SMTC. This course is a must before we can work in offshore, because Safety is the most important factor have to be taken by every employee.

So in this course we are given a basic training how to act when there is an emergency happen in the vessel or platform. Alhtough it's only 3 days course, but we're going to learn a lot of new things both through practical and in class lecture.

Basically the training including;
- Sea Survival & Offshore Safety Procedures,
- Helicopter Underwater Escape Training with EBS, and
- Basic Fire Fighting & Self Rescue.

Below are some of our photos during in class and practical training.

I always heard about the training from my dad and my uncle but I never can imagine how it looks like especially the Helicopter Underwater Escape Training. I keep on questioning how the helicopter looks like. Are they using the real helicopter likes the one fly up on the sky? Is it the red thingy is the helicopter used for the training? Thanx 4 showing the pic.

No, there will be no real helicopter. Yes, the red thingy is the fake helicopter for the training purpose. By the way, actually it is orange color. Thanks for asking.
